Celebrating the election of Councillor Amna Abdullatif in May 2019

This May we elected Amna Abdullatif to represent Ardwick, Amna has replaced Mavis Smitheman who served Ardwick for many years before stepping down to ill health. We’re incredibly grateful of the work that Mavis did for Ardwick, championing the community and people within it.

Amna is a brilliant Labour campaigner who has contributed massively to Ardwick and Manchester Labour through campaigning. Last year Amna chaired the Labour Campaign Forum (City Party) and organising a manifesto hackathon and has consistently campaigned on BAME issues.

As part of her role as a councillor she has joined the Economy Scrutiny Committee which looks at economic growth, strategic transport, employment and skills development, tourism and the regeneration of neighbourhoods in Manchester.
